Cosmetic and Medical DermatologyRF Microneedling: Avoiding Complications & Side Effects
common.weeks_ago
Radiofrequency (RF) technology has been used in dermatology for nearly a century for cautery and was introduced to aesthetic dermatology 30 years ago for skin tightening. Over the last decade, RF has been combined with microneedling, offering a powerful treatment for skin tightening on the face and body, including for the "Ozempic face." This treatment is effective across all skin colors, with numerous manufacturers producing various machines. The FDA recently released a warning concerning complications with radiofrequency microneedling. Despite this, the technology is considered very safe when performed by skilled practitioners. Individuals are advised to inquire about their provider's experience and complication rates, as these are exceptionally low when the procedure is executed correctly, which is the focus of the FDA's warning. #RFMicroneedling #FDASafety #SkincareSafety #KnowTheRisks #AestheticSafety #MedicalAesthetics #InformedConsent #BeautySafety
